I went to visit my older sister last week in Texas and she taught me her philosophy about food, which is essentially: never eat anything that isn’t 100% delicious.
I appreciate these reflections, and they dovetail nicely with The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett, which I just read so and would like to share a quote from: “Life is precious and as long as we have a reason to continue, we should follow that path.”
Wishing you many delights with minimal decision fatigue!
My eating philosophy is very similar to your sister’s. I don’t eat things that are not worth it, and a lot of things are not worth it. This all sounds like a wonderful direction to go in.
And interesting that you are your siblings have had varying reactions to the food insecurity of your childhood.
What a lovely idea. I want to try something like this. I love the simplicity of asking what will make me happy, then providing it. There is power and healing in this.

This is so sad

Mette, this is wonderful. I wish you a 100% delicious life (with a good paring knife to chisel out the bad bits)
